Real Estate and Taxes

The purpose of this course is to help real estate licensees gain a better understanding of real estate taxes, adjustments, depreciation and calculation of gain or loss. Instruction will also cover tax information on a variety of various real estate properties. Property taxes, valuation, types of classes and the Assessor’s requirement will also be covered. Students will also gain insight on the fundamentals of helping clients with property exchanges and compliance with the I.R.S. Code 1031.

Cancellation within 2 business days of the class will result in a $10 cancellation fee.

Lynn Leegard
Lynn started her real estate career in 1985 in residential sales and after attending law school became General Counsel for a large real estate firm. She was an instructor for ProSource Educational Services from 1994-2002 where she taught a variety of real estate courses including the pre-licensing curriculum. She has chaired or served on many of the committees at the local, state and national associations. In 2004 she was the President of the Minnesota Association of REALTORS and REALTOR of the Year in 2005. Lynn also served as the Regional Vice President of the National Association of REALTORS in 2011 representing Region 8. Lynn has a BA from the University of Minnesota and a Law Degree from Hamline University School of Law. Lynn currently works in real estate development and has a strong passion for Senior Housing.
