Come for breakfast, networking and an educational program: “Steps to Close the Homeownership Gap”, factors and characteristics REALTORS® should be aware of when working with people in the Asian community. The Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) is a nonprofit professional trade organization dedicated to promoting sustainable homeownership opportunities in Asian American communities by creating a powerful national voice for housing and real estate professionals that serve this dynamic market. AREAA’s membership represents a broad array of real estate, mortgage and housing-related professionals that serve the diverse Asian American market. 


Free to AREAA members. Open to all.

This course has been approved by the Minnesota Commissioner of Commerce for 1.5 hours of Real Estate Continuing Education.

Christine Berger
Christine Berger is the Vice President of Political Affairs for the Minnesota Association of REALTORS®. She graduated from the Vienna School of Economics & Business Administration in 1999. She is the Minnesota Association of REALTORS® staff liaison to the Diversity Committee. She specializes in Disclosure Issues, Diversity, Environmental Issues, Governmental Affairs, Land Use/Zoning, Legislative Impact Day, Lobbying, MN-RPAC, Political Affairs, and State Legislation for the Association. 

Long Doan

Long Doan has been in the real estate industry for over 25 years and currently is Primary Broker and CEO of Realty Group with about 200 real estate professionals.  Realty Group is a full-service real estate brokerage handling all types of real estate transactions, ranging from traditional to luxury, short sales to bank-owned, investments to non-performing notes acquisition, property management to rentals and commercial to businesses. He is also a Top 1% agent in Minnesota and has extensive experience working with individual, institutional, buyer and seller clientele.

Esther Vang

Esther is Hmong woman currently working as a Housing Case Manager at Hmong American Partnership. She co-teaches Home Stretch, a home ownership pre-purchase class. She also provides emergency assistance to community members through HAP’s Supportive Housing Program and manages East Side Home Properties. Another of Esther’s roles is providing financial literacy to the community through a partnership with Lutheran Social Services. Her degree is in education and psychology. She has over 20 years of experience working in social services with people of diverse backgrounds. This includes working in St. Paul Public Schools, the YMCA, and Thomas Allen Inc. Her involvement in her community goes beyond her job, but also extends to community organizing with East Side Equity In Place and MNSTEP and volunteering at her church. Esther is very passionate about empowering the community through case management and education.
