DescriptionLocationInstructorsCancellation Policy 2021-22 Required Module: The History of Diversity in Homeownership This course has been approved by the Minnesota Commissioner of Commerce for 3.75 hours of Real Estate Continuing Education Understand the history of real estate and the government practices that institutionalized racism in real estate. Identify MN organizations that currently work towards eradicating racism in real estate and the real estate professionalâ€™s role in ensuring fair housing for all. While in class, we will examine individual bias that interferes in the effective and fair practice of real estate and create a diverse business model and understand the benefits of diversity. **Please note: This class will be offered via the Zoom meeting platform, a live, virtual format. Materials and class attendance requirements will be sent to you via email 48-hours prior to the class. Video attendance is required. If you register and are unable to attend, we would appreciate it if you would let us know 48 hours in advance of the class, this way we have an opportunity to allow another student to attend since class size is limited. Note: Prepare to be on time as the DOC rules require that you cannot miss ANY of each class or NO CE can be given. Julia Israel Julia Israel serves as the Productivity Coach for the Minneapolis Keller Williams Realty office. Through Intro to Real Estate classes and career nights, she helps agents determine if a real estate career is the path for them and assists in receiving the proper coaching and training to reach their desired goals. Julia has a passion for building stronger communities by promoting home ownership, especially in diverse neighborhoods. As a certified Homestretch instructor, she educates people about the home buying process and assists them in achieving their home ownership dreams. Julie became a licensed real estate agent in 2001 selling homes primarily to first time home buyers. She acquired her real estate broker license in 2007. Over the past 15 years, Julia has owned several real estate related businesses, served hundreds of REALTORS, bought, sold and rehabbed numerous properties.Today, Julia serves as an elected member of the Minneapolis Area Association of REALTORS (MAR) Board of Directors. She chairs the MAR Diversity committee and serves as a member of the Minnesota Association of REALTORS (MNR) Diversity Committee. Julia is the co-founder of Umoja Community Development Corp (UCDC), a non-profit organization that works to build inclusive communities where all people can attain home ownership and benefit from community development opportunities.
